Give It Time - Best Canon Digital Camera Review

So far I like it but as I read before in the reviews the zoom is definitely choppy which I am disappointed in. I took it kayaking and it took some beautiful pictures. When we tried to troubleshoot, it referred us to an owner's manual. Again, it did not come with any printed owner's manual OR software although the internal manual also referenced included software. Welcome to the reality of point and shoot digital cameras where shutter lag can vary by tenths of a second between models, oh please! It's all good! Best Buy retails this same model for $299, but this was on 'sale' for $223, so it was more than I expected and $80 cheaper. If the purpose of purchasing this camera is to use it for its rugged features then the camera is great!

On the river I took numerous pictures with all the settings to be very disappointed. The quality was so terrible; I double checked all the settings to make sure it was not user error. If you want a great camera that captures action, this is not the camera for you. I hate to see what it looks like when taking underwater photos, especially when shooting objects in motion. We sent it back for repair and they replaced it. We just took it to the beach and AGAIN the battery compartment filled with water. so I just got this one and Olympus came a long way with their products because the 6020 is definitely the only camera I'm going to be using from now on, I have been through two point-and-click cameras in the last few years, this one is by far the best. It is smaller and lighter, and I like doesn't have the telescoping lens sticking out the front.

The camera never went deeper than 3 feet and I actually saw it fail - bubbles coming out around the camera lens. It was 2-3X the price of other point and shoot cameras without the ruggedized features.

Good thing I also brought a higher quality Olympus digital camera with me which produced 100% crystal clear pictures. Buy this and use this for when you are IN the pool where this can get wet, but don't use it as a day to day camera.....you'll get better picture quality elsewhere. Far away pictures looked soft and lacked any detail. Now granted this water park was indoors but it was fairly well lit so that's not an acceptable excuse.

It was a great buy! It's really fun to use around water, like waterparks, the pool and amusement parks. It cannot be dropped, but I don't feel like throwing it either! I recently got this camera as a gift and it is alright.

Overall this camera is awesome, I took it white water rafting and it held up great (I didn't submerge it but it definitely got wet and bumped around). It is a great camera for outdoor lovers who don't want to lug a huge camera around, are disappointed with cellphone pic quality, and want to take pictures everywhere they go.

Well with 4 kids we needed something tough. This is a great sturdy camera.
